Brows that healed grey, red or too dark. A shape that never matched your face. Lips that came out patchy. Most old permanent makeup can be corrected — and Dena has been color-correcting and reshaping other studios’ work since 2018.
What can and can’t be corrected
Correction is a color problem before it’s a shape problem. Old pigment fades to the color underneath it: black-based pigments heal grey or blue, warm ones heal orange or pink. Dena first neutralizes that tone with a corrective pigment, then rebuilds the brow, lip or liner you actually want on top — usually across two sessions six to eight weeks apart.
What corrects well: ashy, grey or red-toned brows; faded microblading that’s lost its shape; lips that healed uneven or too dark; slightly thick or asymmetrical liner that can be balanced. What needs removal first: very dark, saturated pigment, brows far outside a workable shape, or blown-out eyeliner. In those cases Dena will tell you honestly and can refer you for saline or laser removal before correcting.
That’s why every correction starts with a photo assessment: send a daylight picture of the area on WhatsApp and Dena will tell you what’s possible, how many sessions it takes and what it costs before you book anything.
Send a photo if your previous work
- Healed grey, blue, red, orange or pink instead of a natural brow or lip color.
- Faded unevenly — patchy strokes, a tail that disappeared, one brow lighter than the other.
- Has a shape that doesn’t suit your face and is light enough to reshape over.
- Was done more than 6–8 weeks ago so the skin is fully healed and the true color is visible.
What to expect at Cleopatra PMU
Photo assessment
Free. Message a daylight photo. Dena tells you whether correction, cover-up or removal-first is the right route, and quotes the sessions needed.
Consultation & color plan
In the studio, Dena maps the new shape over the old work and chooses the corrective pigment to neutralize the unwanted tone.
Correction session
Numbing throughout. The first session neutralizes and reshapes; expect the area to look warm or muted at first — that’s the correction working.
Rebuild & refine
At 6–8 weeks the target color and definition are built on the neutralized base. Some cases need a third visit.
Corrections and cover-ups
Real correction work from the studio, shared with permission.
Pricing
- Correction — eyebrows or lips, first session $375. Includes assessment, mapping, corrective pigment and numbing.
- Second session (rebuild) — $175, at 6–8 weeks; some cases require a third.
- Removal referrals (saline or laser) are quoted separately by the provider when pigment is too saturated to correct.
Prices shown are first-session prices. The follow-up touch-up, 6–8 weeks later, is booked and priced separately. Current specials and every service are on the pricing & specials page; booking is through Vagaro.
Correction questions, answered
Can you fix microblading done somewhere else?
In most cases, yes. Faded, ashy, red or uneven microblading can be color-corrected and reshaped, usually over two sessions. Very dark or badly shaped work may need removal first; Dena will tell you which after seeing a photo.
Why did my old brows turn grey or red?
Pigment fades to its base color. Black-based pigments leave a grey or blue cast; warm pigments leave orange or pink. Correction uses the opposite tone to neutralize it before new color goes on.
How many sessions does correction take?
Usually two, six to eight weeks apart: the first neutralizes and reshapes, the second builds the final color. Heavily saturated work can take three, or removal first.
Can I just get new brows over the old ones?
Sometimes, if the old work is very faded. If it isn’t, new pigment over uncorrected old pigment heals muddy — which is why Dena assesses a photo first rather than booking straight in.
How soon after a bad job can I get it corrected?
Wait until the area has fully healed, at least 6–8 weeks, so the true healed color is visible and the skin can take new pigment safely.
How do I start?
Send a daylight photo of the area on WhatsApp. Dena replies with an honest assessment, the number of sessions and the price before you book.
