What ombré brows are
Ombré brows (also called powder brows or shading) are created with a machine that places thousands of tiny pigment dots in the skin, building up a soft gradient: lighter at the head of the brow, fuller through the arch and tail. There are no hair strokes — the finish looks like a well-blended brow powder, which is why it suits clients who fill their brows in daily.
Because the pigment is placed as shading rather than fine lines, ombré brows don’t blur on oily skin the way microblading can, and they generally last longer — up to two years before a refresh. Dena customizes the depth from barely-there to fully defined at your consultation.
Every session includes brow mapping, numbing and single-use disposable needles, and Dena works only with pigments matched to your undertone so the brows heal true to color instead of grey or orange.
Ombré brows are a good fit if you

Consultation & mapping
Free. Dena measures and pencils the shape, discusses how bold you want the finish and picks the pigment for your skin tone.
Numbing & session
Numbing cream before and during; the machine work itself feels like a gentle vibration. About 1.5–2 hours in total.
Healing
Bold for 3–5 days, then light flaking. Around week two they look lighter than you expected — the true color settles by week 4–6.
Touch-up
At 6–8 weeks Dena evens out any patchiness and deepens the shading if you want more definition. Priced separately.

Ombré brow questions, answered
How long do ombré brows last?
Usually 18–24 months before a refresh, longer than microblading, because shaded pigment holds better than fine lines. A yearly touch-up keeps them crisp.
Are ombré brows better than microblading for oily skin?
Yes. On oily skin, microblading strokes tend to blur together as they heal; ombré shading stays soft and even. That’s the main reason Dena recommends ombré or combo brows for oily and mature skin.
Will they look too dark at first?
For the first few days, yes — everyone’s brows look bolder than the healed result. They lighten by 30–40% as the skin heals over two weeks. Dena maps and explains this at the session so there are no surprises.
Do ombré brows work on darker or olive skin tones?
Very well, as long as the pigment is matched to your undertone. Dena’s clients include many olive, Middle Eastern and deeper skin tones, and pigment selection is part of every consultation.
Is the touch-up included in $325?
No — the first session is $325 and the touch-up at 6–8 weeks is $175. Both are needed for the finished, long-lasting result.
Can I get ombré brows if I already have old permanent makeup?
Often yes, depending on how faded the old work is. Send a daylight photo first; if the old pigment is dark or off-color it may need correction before new shading. See the correction page.
